After six rounds of play in the 2024 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition, the young men and women from St. Ignatius Catholic and East End Primary top their respective divisions with unbeaten records.
It was ‘business as usual’ this past Friday for the league leaders as the St. Ignatius Catholic boys dominated Theoline L. McCoy Primary amassing 133 runs for two wickets to Theoline L. McCoy’s 56 runs. East End Primary’s boys out scored their eastern district counterparts Edna Moyle Primary 80 runs to 78 runs losing no wickets in the process.
In the girl’s division, St. Ignatius Catholic got past Theoline L. McCoy Primary 58 runs to 51 runs and East End Primary scored 61 runs with the loss of two wickets to overcome Edna Moyle Primary’s total tally of 60 runs
Other results from the sixth day of competition included:
Zone A Boys: Prospect Primary defeated Red Bay Primary 56 runs to 54 runs and Cayman Prep B got past Cayman Academy 39 runs to 38 runs. Island Primary was not scheduled to play.
Zone B Boys: Marie Martin Primary got past Joanna Clarke Primary 40 runs to 38 runs. Sir John A. Cumber Primary was not scheduled to play.
Zone A Girls: Prospect Primary defeated Red Bay Primary 102 runs to 47 runs and Cayman Prep B got past Cayman Academy 50 runs to 48 runs. Island Primary was not scheduled to play.
Zone B Girls: Joanna Clarke Primary defeated Marie Martin Primary 68 runs to 50 runs. Sir John A. Cumber Primary was not scheduled to play.
The seventh and final round of the 2024 season takes place this Friday, May 24 with a full schedule of games including:
Zone A Boys and Girls: Cayman Academy vs. Prospect Primary (at the Annex Field), Edna Moyle Primary vs. Cayman Prep B (at Edna Moyle Primary) and East End Primary vs. Island Primary (at Theoline L. McCoy Primary). Red Bay Primary is not scheduled to play.
Zone B Boys and Girls: Sir John A. Cumber Primary vs. St. Ignatius Catholic (at the Annex Field), Cayman International School vs. Theoline L. McCoy Primary (at Camana Bay) and Joanna Clarke Primary vs. Cayman Prep A (at Joanna Clarke Primary). Marie Martin Primary is not scheduled to play.
Semi-finals in the boys’ and girls’ competitions take place on Wednesday, May 29 with the third-place and finals scheduled for Friday, May 31. All games will be played at the Annex Field.
The Inter-Primary Cricket Competition is organised and coordinated by the Department of Education Services, the Department of Sports and the Cayman Cricket Association and sponsored by CUC.
