Short courses, professional development programmes and degree paths are part of a wide variety of learning opportunities springing up at the University College of the Cayman Islands as the Spring 2021 semester approaches.
Key dates for the upcoming semester include the following:
• Dec. 4: Deadline for prospective students to submit their online applications;
• Jan. 4-8: In-person registration for current students; and
• Jan. 11: Spring classes begin.
UCCI President and CEO Dr. Stacy McAfee notes: “UCCI students are positioned to refresh their skills, renew their goals and spring into action in the new year. We look forward to offering a range of courses; in addition to several events centred on driving student employability and exploring our educational pathways.”
Associate and bachelor’s degrees, certificate programmes, and TVET courses have all gained significant traction in recent months.
“At UCCI, we are responsive to the needs of the local employment market,” Dr. McAfee explained. “Informed by our industry partners, we are regularly flexing our professional development offerings so that regardless of whether you already have a career or are seeking new employment, you can choose from a suite of options to reskill and upskill for success in this increasingly competitive labour market.”
Prospective students should apply by Dec. 4. UCCI’s online portal makes applying easy, allowing students to upload all required documents and to receive an admissions decision through the portal.
Current UCCI students are encouraged to complete their registration before the Fall 2020 semester ends on Dec. 18. For students who are unable to register online before that, the Admissions and Registration Team will be stationed in the Sir Vassel Johnson Hall, Jan. 4-8, for in-person registration assistance.
All current and prospective students are encouraged to visit https://www.ucci.edu.ky/myucci for details on how to complete their respective applications and/or registrations and to view UCCI’s Spring 2021 class schedule for a full listing of classes. Those seeking assistance, can contact UCCI at admissions@ucci.edu.ky or call 1-345-623-8224. Operating hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
