This day in Time: Foster’s Food Fair opened

Foster’s is an extremely familiar name to everyone on island, a group of supermarkets which has grown along with the population of the Cayman Islands, since it first opened its doors on this day in 1980. Back when Foster’s first opened to the Cayman public, there was only one supermarket, located at its airport location, a modest 6,000 sq. ft store with 25 employees. The supermarket was the brain child of David, Alta, and Steve’s Foster, their idea coming to fruition with the opening of the Foster’s Food Fair Airport Store. Since those early days, the group has grown in leaps and bounds, adding more stores across the islands, the most recent addition being the Foster’s Camana Bay store, their largest to date, which opened in October 2019.
