Tourism sanitisation guidelines

The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Department of Environmental Health and private sector stakeholders, has developed updated sanitisation guidelines for the tourism sector, which are now available on the DOT’s website. They can be found on https://www.visitcaymanislands.com/en-us/ourcayman/sanitization-guidelines

The guidelines are based on CARPHA (2020), Caribbean Public Health Agency Technical Guidance: COVID-19 Series and using principles of international health entities, such as Public Health England.

Guidelines are now available for accommodations (hotels and guesthouses and apartments), attractions, car rentals, restaurants and bars, retail, taxi and public transport, tour operators, fishing and snorkelling, and scuba diving.

Guidelines for large events will be incorporated into a national policy that will be released in the coming days. The Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) policy for the tourism sector will be released this week.

These guidelines are intended to be a working document for business to enhance and customise to their specific operation.
