Hazard Management Cayman Islands (HMCI), the National Weather Service (NWS), and 911 have been working diligently through the night and this morning to monitor the system that is now Tropical Storm Helene. The NWS remains in constant communication with the National Hurricane Center to track the storm's progress and any potential changes.
While the Tropical Storm Warning has been lifted, an advisory for inclement weather remains in effect as conditions are still being assessed. Essential agencies are working to address any affected areas, and the public is strongly urged to stay indoors and off the roads to allow these agencies to conduct impact assessments safely.
The Premier Honourable Juliana O’Connor-Connolly emphasised, "We ask everyone to follow the advice of our experts and remain indoors while damage assessments are ongoing. Your safety is our top priority."
Dani Coleman, Director of HMCI, added, "The seas remain extremely rough, and we urge the public to stay out of the water and away from the coastline while severe weather conditions persist."
Please stay tuned to official communication channels for updates.
