TRY THIS IS IN THE NEW YEAR

So, the New Year has begun in earnest. The mad, daily rush to and from work, readying children for school, planning how to pay the bills, and the vicious cycle continues. It would seem as though that we don’t have enough time in the day to get things done. For this New Year I hereby encourage everyone to ensure that they take care of themselves. Make time at least three times daily to do MRT - METABOLLIC RESISTANCE TRAINING.

This is the term used to cover various combinations of intense muscular and cardiovascular protocols. It’s a high volume training that works a large muscle group of the whole body, which results in burning a high number of calories. It’s tough and not for the FAINT OF HEART. Here are some of its benefits.

TIME EFFICIENCY - When you do MRT you are actually doubling your workout in half the time. This is handy for all of us on a busy schedule.

INCREASED VOLUME - One of the key successes to your fat loss or muscle building is the volume within your workout. MRT smashes this with its incredibly high volume.

INCREASE FAT BURN - The calories burnt in a session is seriously high, due to the intensity of the workout. It causes even greater fat burning for up to 48 hours post workout through exercise post-exercise oxygen consumption. This is often referred to as the after-burn effect.

IMPROVES FITNESS WITH LESS CARDIO - MRT is very metabolic, meaning it uses a large amount of energy to build muscle and therefore, burns more fat. It also needs a large amount of oxygen and recovery between sets. It is, therefore, great at increasing cardio health. Here are some MRT’S you can do:

15-20 goblet squats, 15-20 Dumbbell walking lunges, 15-20 Barbell bent-over rows. Remember, it’s not for the FAINT OF HEART.
