Two named in King’s birthday honours

Caymanians Garth Arch and James Watler have received MBEs (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) from King Charles in the King’s first Birthday Honours list, Governor Jane Owen has announced.

Mr Arch, Managing Director of construction firm, Arch and Godfrey, received his honour for his services to business, commerce and the community. He is also chairman of the Children and Youth Services Foundation of the Cayman Islands.

Mr Watler is a retired civil servant and was president of the Civil Service Association for 10 years. He received his honour for his public service and for his services to education in the Cayman Islands.

Governor Owen said: “My congratulations to the two members of the Cayman community who have been made Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in His Majesty The King’s first Birthday Honours list for outstanding services to the Cayman Islands.”

She sent her warmest congratulations to both Mr Arch and Mr Watler on receiving their awards.
