Naima Mora (Cycle 4 winner) and Kiara Belen (Cycle 19 runner-up), of America’s Next Top Model, will both be hosting Cayman InStyle Fashion Week’s Runway Show on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
Cayman InStyle Fashion Week’s organizer, Creative Fashion School (a non-profit organization, whose aim is to empower Cayman’s youth who finds solace and a sense of purpose through art, fashion and design) is partnering with the Alex Panton Foundation (whose mission is to highlight the awareness, advocacy and support of mental illness affecting children and young adults).
This four-day upscale event opens with a Welcome Party on Thursday, March 30, where guests mingle with local and international designers and models and it wraps up on Sunday, April 2, with “The Escape” which will show off the island’s beauty to visiting celebrities, designers, and media, as they sail the pristine waters of this Caribbean gem.
On Friday, March 31, the “Free Your Mind” Soirée will take place at the Ritz-Carlton at 7:00 p.m. The Soirée is a stylish production celebrating the dedication and passion of Cayman InStyle Fashion Week’s “Free Your Mind” program. Student designers from local schools and the community will showcase their unique outfits, while select artists paint live and on location, and while local musical talent and dancers add their creative flare alongside local and international guests. Sponsors, influencers, models, international designers, celebrities and press can enjoy specialty cocktails and floating appetizers during the cocktail hour, whilst enjoying the best of Cayman’s creativity, on the opening night.
On Saturday, April 1, it’s Lights! Camera! Fashion! The highly-anticipated Runway Show, also taking place at the Ritz-Carlton, will feature local and international designers (such as Uzuri International, Carlton Jones, César Galindo and Adrian Alicea, to name a few). There will also be a special Cayman InStyle Fashion Week’s Bridal segment featuring breathtaking bridal gowns from internationally-known couture designer, Paulette Cleghorn.
Gracing the runway in these designer collections will be both international and local models. Cayman InStyle Fashion Week’s local models are trained by international runway coach, Alva Page, who has mentored the likes of several Caymanian models who went on to sign with various international modeling agencies, including Cayman’s very own Paris Phillips (currently signed to Nevs Model Agency).
Sunday March 12th, between 12:00 & 3:00pm will be the final Model Casting Call. It will be hosted at the Creative Fashion School (CFS) which is located at Barcadere Warehouse Park Building D unit 216.
The cocktail reception for VIP ticket holders starts at 6:00 p.m. and the show begins at 7:00 p.m.
The inception of Cayman InStyle Fashion Week’s inaugural 2019 show, InStyle Cayman, provided a platform for local designers to be seen alongside international top designers such as Sergio Hudson (known for his designs for Michelle Obama, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez) and Sai Sanko (who showed her collection for the first time ever on a runway and has since been worn by celebrities such as Gabrielle Union-Wade and Jenna Jenovich) – quality which will be repeated in 2023.
