The University College of the Cayman Islands is starting the new year with a bang, by celebrating not just one but two great achievements this January.
Just before Christmas 2022, the School of Nursing received the news that it had another 100% pass rate at the Regional Examination for Nurse Registration. Its four successful graduates, Kashena Allen, Kris Maxine Aleria, Ma. Ginelle Salanatin and Chrisina Clarke, who sat the exam in late 2022, all passed, making this the third time it has celebrated a 100% pass rate. Passing this exam allows the graduates to obtain the Registered Nurse title, a requirement for practicing nursing.
The School of Nursing is the premier provider of professional nursing education in the Cayman Islands, preparing students to be highly skilled, knowledgeable, compassionate professional nurses through committed educators, world-class technology and current scientific knowledge and pedagogies. The programme regularly attracts the highest quality learners, who go on to provide care to the people of the Cayman Islands.
The University College of the Cayman Islands also continued its trend for engaging world-class instructors, as one of its esteemed faculty, Ms. Kavita Panjwani, took center-stage as the chairperson and key speaker at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) International Conference which took place in late 2022 in Delhi.
Ms Panjwani is an Associate Professor within the business division at the university College of the Cayman islands and has published articles globally on finance and business.
Dr. Robert W. Robertson, President and Chief Executive of UCCI, commented, “I am very proud of all of the students, staff and faculty at UCCI as we continue to celebrate many successes. Our nursing students are always amazingly talented young people and we are thrilled that they are now capable of practicing within the Cayman Islands. This is one of our flagship provisions that fills a skills gap within the region and we are sure it will continue to go from strength the strength.
“We are also immensely proud of all of our faculty who continue to contribute to global research and professional conferences that assist in building our institutional brand and the skills required in the country.”
“We are fortunate to have an engaged team of faculty that constantly looks to improve the quality of the student experience and our students are lucky to learn from world-class instructors.”
