Cayman Islands sailor Charlotte Webster put together her best finish of the 2024 Summer Olympics on Sunday, 4 Aug. when she finished 32nd in Race 7 of the Women’s Dinghy event’s Opening Series.
She placed 43rd in Race 8 and remains in 41st in the overall results through eight races.
“The game plan today was to get oS the line in a clear lane and I could not have asked for a better start from Charlotte,” Cayman Islands Coach Raph Harvey said. “She definitely executed phase one of the plan today. In both race seven and eight, she got oS the line in a clear lane and was able to sail her own race.
In Race 7, Webster rounded mark one in 13th, her best placement through the first mark in the Games.
The final two races of the Opening Series will be held Monday, 5 Aug. with Races 9 and 10. Race 9 is scheduled to begin at 5:15 a.m. in the Cayman Islands.
Paris 2024 takes place 26 July – 11 August. Paris is the main host city with events held at 16 other cities throughout France and one in Tahiti.
